We now live in southeastern Utah. Beautiful country! Have you seen any of the old John Wayne movies?...filmed in southern Utah, the real west!
Before that we traveled the country with our horses for five years (sold the house in the mountains of North Carolina and lived on the road). Been in 49 states!
Hoss: What part of Ohio are you from? I was born and raised in the foothills of southeastern Ohio.

Hatman:
Yea, you are right about True Grit. However his earlier films like Stagecoach, Tie a Yellow Ribbon and his other Calvery movies where filmed in Monument Valley located on the Utah/Arizona border.
I do have to admit however that Colorado is also one of my favorite states especially in that area of the state. That is one thing about living in the "four corners area" we have it all as far as riding and beautiful country....and riding all year long!

Good morning Hatman! I live , work and breath everyday from the back of a horse in the beautiful Sandhills of Nebraska. We always have several good horses for sale (sound, gentle & ready to work). My email address is djfransua@hotmail.com (We also take in horses to train, so if you find one you love, but needs some work...drop me an email)
~Lady~
I live in Saskatchewan north of Saskatoon. We just moved from Calgary alberta in May....I just bought myfirst horse whom I just rode for the first time today.

I would be from the hot, humid pine trees of East Texas. Former barrel racer and trainer, have learned to just enjoy horses for myself now!

Blue and I live about an hour south of Macon, Georgia. Very hot, very humid right now...we both sweat a lot when we go riding. We lay low during the day and only come out after sunset most of the time...

Oh...forgot to mention that Blue, like me, is also a transplant. (I moved to Georgia from Indiana) Blue came to Georgia from a PMU farm in Canada (Alberta, if I remember right). He's been with me since he was 4 months old...now he is 3, and I've been riding him since May. Best horse I've ever had.
His mama was Percheron/QH cross, his sire was Mustang/draft cross(Belgian/Percheron). Blue is already 3" taller than his sire, who is 15H and 1300 pounds. Both parents are blue roan, as is Blue.

Born and lived in central Illinois until June when we moved to N.E. Missouri. If you are still in need of a horse check out several of the breeders in our area:
Swede Quarter Horses They have two quiet stallions that produce really quiet, easy going offspring (we own two fillies out of the same mare by each of the stallions) and also have other horses for sale.
www.geocities.com/swede_qhFranke Quarter Horses They have really nice big quarter horses ( we own a stud colt out of a SQ mare by one of their stallions) and are having a production sale Aug. 27th
www.frankequarterhorses.comBoth are into foundation bred quarter horses and have horses for sale to fit just about any need.

I'm from nowhere really, I am looking for soemwhere to go, in about a year I want to geta job on a ranch that'll let me use their equipment and hone my cowboy skills, any ideas? lol, so yeah, I was born in missouri, raised in washington, and now my family is moving to Utah! anyway, that's my two cents.

I hail from Wyoming been here for pretty much all of my 21 years and never really seem to leave the ranch for any extended amount of time. It's actually pretty nice to live in a place where a good horse is more essential than a pickup or a 4-wheeler.

Why damn Michigan? Beautiful country there
![[Smile]](smile.gif)
My husband was born and raised there and joined the Navy from there. I was born in New Hapshire, raised for 13yrs in New York, then off to Ohio, South Carolina, back to Ohio, Nebraska, Michigan (no I didn't meet my husband there:), back to Nebraska where I joined the Navy(that's where I met my husband!). We are now both stationed in NW Washington state with our two cats and one dog and two horses, an 18yr old Thoroughbred gelding and a 6yr old pinto mare.

Lowrider...
I guess it depends on just where one is at in MI. Some parts are better than others. Seems like a lot of the folks I've met are not very cowboy friendly; if you try to live the life & are serious about it, you get put down & made fun of. I've spent some time in Oregon & Wyoming. Big difference...there, it's a natural way. Not so in MI.
