Okay I am planning to ride Scooby today, As long as it isn't gonna rain. I was going to yesterday, but I figured I would let the lesson we went through yesterday sink in. I stood in the stirrup and let him stand and kinda jumped a little and wiggled the other stirrup, he seemed pretty calm. The only problem is me. Even right now I am nervous thinking what could go wrong and such. I think I have worked my confidence up since yesterday, and I know I have to get on. I'll keep you guys posted and let ou know what happens tonight. I know I have the right training method for my scoober and me and I am hoping this time I start riding him will be different then last. cross your fingers guys!!!

Sounds like you are just breakin him. Are ya well if you are i have some advice. When i broke my 5 year old paint 3 years ago what i did was sat on him side saddle and had somebody lead me around on another horse that way if he did anything i could get off safely.Anyway what yo9u are doin sounds like a good thing to me i mean i have broke many different horses and they are all different and VERY UNPREDICTABLE!! so what ever you do remember to becareful!

thanks Jess well I never got to ride scooby yesterday seeing as the bulls decided to take out the corral fence, anyways Hopefully it looks like the rain stopped so maybe today. he has been ridden before numerous times but this new saddle is keeping him spooky. I started him totally different and I hope it works

can the saddle be fitting him wrong?

I looked over the saddle with a fine tooth comb A while back when he was extremly spooky with it. I switched cinches and now hes a lot better. But of course yesterday there was a Tornado watch out here and the round pen was muddy so I decided to just let him be yesterday. Today theres more thunderstorm watches out so I have no Idea when I'm going to ride him.

Well, I finally rode him. It was bareback and he was in the roundpen but its a start. As my sister calls him "the plowhorse" just walked around in circles calmly. I was ecstatic. Aftwer that I saddled him up.(tricked him this time I got him cinched up without walking to the other side to pull the cinches down) and he's being such a good boy. It's like his brain suddenly reappeared as soon as he hit 3 years old. Its great. I'll keep you posted!!
