brand "Red Ranger Saddlery"? I have a saddle of this make and can't find any information on it, except that they went out of business 25 years ago. I would really like to know more about this saddle. Any information that anyone could give me would be great.
Also howdy to everyone here, I just signed up, in hopes that you guys might be able to help me out.

i typed in the name on google and found where a few had sold but nothing more than that. i think one sold for $200 and another for $107, that doesn't mean that your saddle might not be in better condition and worth a little more.
is there a city and state name on it also?

Hello
![[Smile]](smile.gif)
We just bought one as well. It was very worn and hard to read but we thought it said Red Rancer Saddlery. I looked it up on Google and it suggested Red Ranger Saddlery. I found your post. Does that mean my saddle is 25 yrs old? And have you found any other info on it yet?
Thanks

ive found about 15 to 20 different posts asking for info about the Red Rangers Saddlery. Almost all of them bought them at an auction from under $150CAN. One person said that an auctioneer had said that it was made b a "Denver Saddle Company". But two people(their dad/grandad) had bought them in the 60's when they were brand new for $1200. In every post people couldn't find ANY info on the saddles and the saddles were all 30+yrs old, so I suspect you are right.

I have just goten back into horses recently. By chance my dad still had the saddle I had used as a teen. He had won it in a raffle in about 1978. It is in good condition and has Red Ranger Saddelry stamped on it. And the number 900 on the back for more info if anyone has. I too am looking for more info about it. Anyone??

Has anyone tried looking through antiquities?
Wish I knew what brand one of my old saddles was, I took it in to be looked at, was told it is very old, but that the stamp was probably on the seat and hand carved, but is no longer visable..they thought it was over 50 yrs old, but didn't know anything else about it.
Colorado Saddlery has been around quite a while, I think, maybe they'd know something about your Red Ranger's.

In my continueing quest for info about Red Ranger Saddlery, I have found this. I took my saddle to have some repair work done. The shop recommended I not have the work done, because it was worth more in the orginal condition. So I continue my search.

Do you still need information on the Red Ranger saddles?
They were a Chattanooga Tenn. based company and if I remember correctly the company was formed in the late 60s to early 70s around the time that the original Big Horn company closed. They later became Double R but I'm not sure of the date.
You might search under Double R or RR. Red Ranger might be just the brand name manufactured by Double R . That was a long time ago for me but I did buy some supplies from them. Dan Crates at Crates Saddle co. could probably give you all the details if you can contact him. I hope this helps.

Hi guys, I have just joined this site to say that I too have a Red Ranger (patent pending) saddle bought here in Brittany, France. It is numbered 901, is black with silver studding around all edges. I would love some info on this too. It's in good condition and I was surprised to find that it is probably over 25 years old!!! Let me know also if any info out there and I will continue my investigations also

Hi there! I just purchased a Red Ranger saddle #998. I am trying to find out how old, where it was made. It has stamp on fender with patent pending in small letters under the name. It is in excellent shape and would like to find out more info. on the company. It is beautifully made and so comfortable to ride in. My 2 year old gelding quarter horse is very sensitive to type of saddle and he took to this the same as he did to being ridden bareback, which is his favorite way to be ridden!

The number on the Red Ranger Saddle is located behind the cantle on the skirting. It is a piece of leather sewn on the center of skirting just behind the cantle.

Hi, I posted the other day but probably in the wrong place. I have a Red Ranger saddle #904. It is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in. And beautifully made. I was excited to find this site and all of your posts about your saddles. And I was so glad to read the information about these saddles. My saddle needs repaired if it is ever used again, the skirt is loose on one side. I plan to just sit it on a nice saddle rack in my rec room. It is so attractive.

Hi there
I have just read all the posts of the last couple of years and have found i too are in the same boat as you...
I have a Red Ranger western saddle, only stamped with makers brand on the nearside fender . with number 895 stamped behind the seat. I have had it for over 15 years, It was given to me by a friend of mine in the outback.
I have been trying to find information on the brand for the last few years and have not had a lot of luck.
I nearly sold mine a week or so ago for $100 aussie dollars but decided not to as it is in dire need of repairs and I would rather fix it.
I need a new tree in mine but other wise the leather work is still in good condition.
It has fully tooled light tanned leather with what looks like floral work. It has a green rough out seat on it and wooden ox bows.
I would really like to have it repaired so I can keep it as it is a very comfortable saddle to ride in and looks great.
As I am an aussie I am not sure how to track anything else down on this saddle. I have tried to google the area where they were ment to have been made but still nothing.
If anyone can help me
I am not sure if I should sell the saddle or keep it.
Is it worth it do you think?
cheers
