I am an almost intermediate rider. I have tried roping, penning and general all-around riding. I spent most of the time just trying to stay in the saddle when I was roping. I am trying to find a week long place to better my riding skills. I would like to find a place where someone helps with instruction and also then rides with you doing ranch type things. I have herded cattle, etc. I really need to get a little more confidence being in the saddle so I can ranch rodeo with my friends. Any ideas or personal experiences would be much appreciated. I am hoping for someplace in Wyoming, Montana or Colorado. I do like the mountains. thanks!

Try Martin Black http://www.martinblack.net/

or Joe Wolter http://www.joewolter.com/

or Buck Brannaman http://www.brannaman.com/index.htm

All top horsemen.

Also check WH magazine...there's a "cowboy school" advertised in it somewhere, although I don't know anything about it's quality.

Thanks for the tips. I think the ad in WH is for Bob Kings Cowboy Camp. I need to call him and find out if his camp leans towards what I am looking for. I appreciate the websites for the other 3 people. THey look great! Buck B. does not look like he takes people at his place. Joes' website is yet completed to show what he trains on but I will keep checking. I did not have these before they were listed here. Thanks again and keep those thoughts and ideas coming!

Martin Black's apprenticeship program looks good, wouldn't mind taking that myself...Martin was in Alberta for a clinic last year, but unfortunately I missed him. I heard great reports from folks who attended.
