Mustang Blue
Just wondering if anyone else made it to Cheyenne Frontier Days? I've always wanted to go, ever since I was a kid, and finally got to yesturday at age 44. What a let down! I don't know, maybe I expected to much, but I've seen better rodeos here locally....maybe the finals make the difference?
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't "bad", but it my mind, just average. Take Barrels for instance, best time was 17. something, average was in the 18's...my old Saddlebred, was doing them at 16 and 17 at 33 yrs old, my little mustang averages 18 & 19's, what's with that? Bull riding and bronc riders were good, always are no matter where one is, but the animals won most the time, which is also fun to watch. *G*
I'd have to say I enjoyed the wild horse races the most..what a hoot! hmmmm, think they were wild QH's though, lol! No freezebrands in that lot [Smile]
oh well, thanks for letting me vent.

Lona; i have never been to frontier days but it seems to me that arena size and pattern width make the difference in times (as well as dirt depth) in the barel racing. maybe the guy on the tractor messed up or the barels were set wider apart.
