If your hoof pick isn't a bright color already, spray paint it red or yellow or orange. I lost one about 6 minutes ago. It's red so it was easy to find.

In damp conditions and when saddling another horse after riding a sweaty horse, I use baby powder on the latigo. The powder lubricates and makes pulling easier. It also abosrbs some of the moisture and helps keep the latigos from cracking.

Good point NW, and another good reason to keep baby power in the barn, it is great for up under the fenders towards the bars to help reduce those new saddle squeaks.

Baby wipes are a great cleaner. Helps keep em clean without bathing and gentle on the face.

Any tips on how to clean wool blankets, wool felt pads, or pads with merino wool bottoms?
I took my SMX Air Ride merino pad to the car wash, hung it up on the mat clips and used cold water to spray it off. Let it drip dry over a blanket rack. Seemed to work pretty well... OTHERS?
