Hi everyone!
I've been lurking for a few days and thought I'd say hi. I'm from the Houston area and do not own a horse right now. I've been shopping and looking at boarding facilities. I'm taking my time and looking for a longtime buddy. I've had horses in the past but I'm not a super experienced rider. I've had some lessons but I have back problems and the posting was rough. I'm just looking at riding for fun, maybe light trail riding. I'm looking forward to everyone's opinions and getting to know you all.
Happy New Year,
Becca

Welcome. I used to live in Pearland. Do they still have the horse auction place on Cullem,or Cullen I forget now? I used to go there every week. They had many ponies and all kinds of horse stuuf.

Welcome Becca;
Mr. Graywolf has back problems and hip replacements; we were advised to get a gaited horse for him, but he couldn't stand the motion he made, so now he's my horse and he has a Paint, which has nice smooth gaits, without the rear quarter under reach of the gaited horses. I've met other people with back problems that said they gave up riding until they found gaited horses. I think the best plan is to try them out first and see what is comfortable for you. Also, western saddle, no posting required.
Hope you find your special friend!
