The American Museum of Natural History at Central Park West and 79th Street, New York, New York 10024-5192, has organized a major exhibition on “The Horse” (http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/), which began May 17, 2008 and runs through January 4, 2009 http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m113...17/ai_n25403194. Jay and I are both pleased to present you with additional information on the horse as a reintroduced native wildlife species, now corroborated by scientific fact-checkers at the American Museum of Natural History. The title Ecce Equus was created by the editor of Natural History magazine, Vittorio Maestro. He states…“Ecce" means “behold!" The phrase “ecce homo" is a biblical expression, supposedly what Pilate said when he presented Jesus to the populace before the crucifixion. I just thought it sounded catchy, and works with the Latin genus name [Equus].”
