Matt rode his Mustang Johnny Landers 1200 from his home in Vegas to the Mustang Makeover in Ft. Worth TX. He was escorted into town by the local Mounted police unit. During the trip they were attacked by a pack of dogs and Johnny beat the snot out of them with his hooves and sent one sailing about 10 feet in the air. All the while Matt was in the saddle.
Matt had the same 100 days to train his Mustang as all the other trainers, and spent most of them on his trip training as he went along.
The event starts on the 18th so he has a few days more to work with Johnny Landers. Now that is a great feat. This wild horse was mounted and ridden 1200 miles with less than a couple weeks of training!!!!! Not only that the bond made between man and horse was strong enough that Johnny took on 5 attacking dogs and kicked the snot out of them without dumping Matt out of the saddle!!!!!!
