It's a bitter cold 44 degrees with a howling wind of about 5 MPH. Time to breakout the winter stuff.

We are going to warm up the the mid forties next week. This is still fall. The 5" of snow we got Thursday will be gone and we can get back to finishing the corral and windbreak project we started a coupel of weeks ago.

oh my, I hope you don't freeze down there!
It's a balmy 42 degrees here today with a nice 12 MPH breeze, I hope it stays this nice for a while!
Time to break out the shorts again!

I rode this afternoon in about 33 degrees, and as the afternoon waned, the wind kicked up to about 15-20 mph .... and then we came outta the shelter of the bush. We took the short way home ... and my tootsies and fingertips were a wee bit chilly by the time we got back to the barn. Welcome to an early Manitoba winter.

44 degrees, I think that is going to be our high today and its windy too (15-20 mph). It got down to 29 last night. We had the wood stove rolling on, not quite cool enough for the fireplace too. Had brown beans and cornbread, fried potatoes and turnips for dinner, now thats fall food.

Things are going so much better here. We have five horses left and that is a managable #. Worked with the white weanling (Magik) yesturday, he is such a case; he loves to have his backside brushed, so he keeps turning it toward you; Mr. Graywolf says its his best side.

Yesturday was the first day of gun season for deer and of coarse I found a no hunting sign ripped off a tree at the locked gate entrance. We will wait for the weekend to end to go hunting; its safer that way.

Keeping warm in Ky.

It's good to hear that things are better in Kentucky. I went to church this morning and a man I know asked me if I knew anyone hiring? While I'm working it's a contract job, Campus Cop, and not real stable. I might need to look around for a better, bigger school or college, job just in case.

Dear Mike; thank you for the kind words and I hope you find a real stable job soon. Our oldest son was laid-off from a factory that supplied auto parts 3 months ago; he couldn't sit idle and draw unemployment, so he is now installing cable TV system; he making ok money at it, but I told him with this economy, just be glad you have a job.

What crazy weather, yesturday it was cloudy and in the 50's, it rained all night (we really needed it) and today it is balmy, humid and 65 degrees. They are forcasting a rain/snow mix with lows in the high 20's for the weekend-- Oh well, job security for me--everyone will have pneumonia.

Enjoying the little joys in life here in Ky.
