Hello Everyone,
I have been considering the saddle making and tack repair trade. Most seem to say if you can build a saddle you can repair one. I realize it can be very expensive to start (a couple thousand $ just basic start up tools, and some materials inventory adds to that), but can this money be made back? I'm in the Lexington, KY area so there are alot of horses and tack and harnesses and much of this stuff needs repair. But mostly I'm asking about the schools. Some of note - Jesse Smith Saddlery (and school), Sierra Saddlery School, Montana Horseman Saddle Building School, Pete's Custom Saddlery (and school), and I'm sure there are others. Does anyone know of these schools and have any comments? Suggestions? Advice?
