Hello,
I'm from germany and I have an antique saddle, but I don't know how old it is and where it come from. I would like to know how valueable it is.
I Hope you can help me.

Your English isn't that bad.

You need to look over the saddle and make notes on any names, numbers or logos you see. What they look like and where they are on the saddle.
It would likely be best to do a search for antique tack dealers or collecters. It's a growing field and there are some antiques worth money and some saddles that just happen to be old.
For right now a makers name or logo is the most important thing you can look for.
You also might take the saddle to a leathersmith there and see what he thinks about the quality of the saddle. Generally a valuable old saddle was well made to start with.

trapper...from what i can see, it looks to be what my dad used to call a 'sheep herders' saddle because of the high back...does it have any lettering at all..give it a 'all over' look...should have some kind of lettering......jltruitt
