G'day from Down Under

I have read a little about the Ranch Horse Associaition and really like what I have read but I would love to here from others about thier experiences. I love showing, campdrafting, cowboy polo, cutting, reining etc but so many of the associaition members are very uptight, impersonal and competing can be very stressful.

I like the idea of a more social event where we could show against others who have the same ideals without all the hype and stress.

I am considering starting a Ranch horse association here in Australia.

Would love to here everyones comments and opinions. Good or bad

Hi!
I started showing ARHA back in 96 and really enjoy the atmosphere at the shows.
Members make the organizations - so if you start one up, find enough like-minded people who want a more relaxed fun atmosphere and you should do well. The ARHA has been growing steadily since it's start - even in the tougher economy here in the US - and that's a good sign.

Initially, the shows seemed to drag on - but I understand there's a learning curve - and last year, most of the shows seemed to be run very well - even with the larger entries!

I wish you luck!

G'day and thanks for the reply

I really like the sound of this type of showing. I have tried to contact the ARHA but so far without success. I Have been in contact with the New Zealand Association so I at least have some idea on the events and how they are run.

I would really like to hear from others in regards to this and get lots of ideas and opinions
