My vet just diagnosed my 23 yr old appy with artheritis. It's mild right now but she recomended that I put the appy on a joint suppliment pronto. Anybody here have any recommendations as to what I should get? I've seen some in the smart pak catalog like smartflex senior that look ok...

The ingredient you should be looking for is glucosimine. I know that some people just use a product from their local health food store...but I don't know what.

I have a dog with arthritis, they wanted to put him on Rimadol, (at $1.75 per pill, twice a day) but my vet told me I can substitute with Tylonol Arthritis for humans and be just fine (at a cost of $7.00 fo 100 pills) But I don't know if it would be safe for horses or not...ask your vet.
