I can't actually remember the last good rain we had. We're over 10"+ behind on rainfall.
We don't have flies. I mean none. I haven't even seen a Bot egg on my pony. Snakes are everywhere looking for a drink. Quails and Coyotes are sneaking in to drink from the dog's water. I just wish the fleas would dry up.

We are experiencing a heat wave also. I had song birds pecking at my 50lb salt blocks - outside in the paddock and inside the stall. The trails are very dusty. There's a section were I ride which is in the shade. I can still get in an 1 - 1 1/2 hours ride. Haven't seen a flea this year. Stay cool.

I think you sent it my way! For the first time in 11 years, we're finally out of the drought...but the rains have been rediculous...flooded my pasture into a lake! FEMA was even called in for the July 12 flood damage. For our parts, that's unheard of!
Remember that the next drought starts right after the last rain. Hopefully you get a rain and the next drought is only about a week long.
We had a lot of water and flooding after the snow melted, more than usual. Now since June I bet we haven't had an inch of rain. I can't even remember the last measurable rain that fell. Strange year all over the US from what I have gathered. Interesting that WY is getting rain. Western ND is also in that pattern and eastern ND is dry in many spots. Just the opposite of what usually happens.
