What are the most popular fly sprays?

What works best for you?

Thanks in advance.

I look for the spray with the higest percentage of the two P's, Permitherin and Permectrin. I also prefer a water / sweat resistant spray...the brand name is not so important to me.

The only fly spray I've found that works for my horses, and available in Canada, is Absorbine® UltraShield®. It's rather expensive - about $20+ a bottle.

What ever you get try it on a small area first. I gave my QH a squirt of oil baesd spray and his hair fell out. It didn't seem to cause him any pain or discomfort but looked like crap. The hair did grow back so I learned a lesson at my own emotional expense.

In my farrier work, I have customers that use just about anything and everything. I have a bottle of Ultra Shield in my pickup to use if the customer doesn't have any or if their's isn't working. I will second the Ultra Shield.

I have one customer that puts diesel fuel in a sprayer and very lightly mists his horses. Not saying I endorse this but it works better than 95% of the store bought sprays.
