I have a 5 year old mare that has a run in stall. She has the problem of Urinating in her stall, but if she has to poop she will go outside to do that. can anyone give me any suggestion on how to correct her behavior on this. Thank you

Denny, Do you have a spot in her paddock where the footing is soft, dry and loose? Most horses prefer the softer ground. You can also try taking some of her urine soaked bedding and putting it in one (soft) place in her paddock. Keep her out of her stall for a day or two. Another method would be to feed her in the stall right after she has urinated outside in the paddock. Both of these suggestions require you to limit her stall access in hopes that she learns the behavior desired.
